Rutland Lodge & Mews cottages are situated in the Victorian area of Wellswood a five minute walk from the bars + shops one way. Then a ten minute walk down to the main Torquay harbour & marina.

On the way to the seafront there is a bowling ally and variety of restaurant & take-aways. A ten minute walk round to Ilsham valley brings you to Kents cavern. Further down past the playing fields (ideal for dog walking) you can see Meadfoot bay and beach. As the side of the beach is honeycombed with caves, no building has ever been possible, making it delightfully undeveloped. Dogs are allowed on one part of the beach. See sign post. There is plenty of free and fee paying parking.

Cockington Manor and Park are around the Bay, past the train station, with its beautiful pink thatched village houses and craft shops at the Manor.

The town of Dartmouth is a 30 minute drive via the ferry, or a ferry operates from Torquay harbour to there & Brixham.
